MALE # 1 ( ORANGE COLLAR / JET BLACK) whelped 10/21/2019 : Ramses ruled during the New Kingdom for either 66 years. He built all over Egypt and many of his statues and temples are still standing today. He is probably the most prolific of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, siring over 100 children with more than a dozen wives
MALE # 2 ( GREEN COLLAR / BLACK BRINDLE ) whelped 10/21/2019: In his time, Xerxes I’s empire stretched from Egypt to parts of Europe and east to India. At that time the Persian Empire was the largest and most powerful Empire in the ancient world. Xerxes I is best known for his enormous expedition against Greece in 480 BCE. According to the ancient historian Herodotus, Xerxes assembled the largest and most formidably equipped invasion force ever put into the field in history.
pronounced "joe-sir" the D is silent
MALE # 3 ( BLUE COLLAR / BLACK BRINDLE) whelped 10/21/2019 :
Djoser was the best known pharaoh, and possibly the founder, of the Third Dynasty of the Old Kingdom in Egypt. He was responsible for the world's first known monumental stone building, the Step Pyramid at Sakkara.
Little is known about Djoser, but the fact that he was able to build such a massive and innovative structure as the Step Pyramid suggests that during his reign Egypt was politically stable, with a successful economy. The architect of the pyramid was Imhotep, a priest and advisor of Djoser's who is the first architect known by name in history
MALE # 6 ( RED COLLAR / BLACK BRINDLE ) whelped 10/21/2019: King Tutankhamun (or Tutankhamen) ruled Egypt as pharaoh for 10 years until his death at age 19, around 1324 B.C. Although his rule was notable for reversing the tumultuous religious reforms of his father, Pharaoh Akhenaten, Tutankhamun’s legacy was largely negated by his successors. He was barely known to the modern world until 1922, when British archaeologist Howard Carter chiseled through a doorway and entered the boy pharaoh’s tomb, which had remained sealed for more than 3,200 years. The tomb’s vast hoard of artifacts and treasure, intended to accompany the king into the afterlife, revealed an incredible amount about royal life in ancient Egypt, and quickly made King Tut the world’s most famous pharaoh
aka "Miss Cleo"
FEMALE # 7 ( YELLOW COLLAR / BLACK-BRINDLE ) whelped 10/21/2019: While queen of Egypt (51–30 BCE), was the last pharaoh of Egypt who tried to hold off the Romans under Augustus. She ruled beside three pharaohs including her young son and was the lover of Marc Antony. She came to represent, as did no other woman of antiquity, the prototype of the romantic femme fatale.
FEMALE # 8 ( PINK COLLAR / JET BLACK ) whelped 10/21/2019: Nefertiti is known as one of the most beautiful and powerful queens of Egypt. Her name means, “The beautiful one has come”. She was born around 1370 BC and likely died around 1330 BC. Although Great Royal Queens are expected to give birth to a son, she gave birth to six daughters.
FEMALE # 9 ( PURPLE COLLAR / BLACK-BRINDLE ) whelped 10/21/2019: Ankhesenamun is best known as the wife of King Tut, the "boy king". Although they were both very young when Tutankhamun ascended to the throne of Egypt, preserved depictions showed them in a loving, romantic relationship.
